With the French Film Festival that recently rounded up in October 08, we don’t really have a valid excuse to complain on the lack of International Films Screening in Singapore.

The 12th German Film Festival, organised by the Goethe-Institut, will be screening a selection of the best German film productions made between the years 2006 and 2008. With genres ranging from Comedy to Drama, it’s no doubt you’ll find something that’s right up your alley.

1st November is World Vegan Day 2008, organised by the Vegan Society. On this day, there will be activities happening around the world, advocating living free off animals products for the benefit of the people’s health, animals and the planet.

Our local Vegetarian place, Food #03 , participates through their Guest Chef Programme. Guest Chef Halimah will be offering Vegan Cupcakes, made from Butter-free ad Egg-Free ingredients. These cupcakes are available: chocolate-vanilla, green tea, mango and coconut-lime.

We can see the cows and the chickens around the world nodding in approval, as well as the lactose-intolerant guys.

On the 11th of September 2008, Asia Video Club along with interactive agency, Fat Pixel, gave a talk on technology in the Hao Summit. During this summit, we gave a live demonstration of AVC technology through mobile blogging. We then divided the attending artists into 5 groups and assigned them create profiles and a blog entry for each group. The artists had alot of fun on the talk and some have actually joined us bloggers in AVC. We were thankful to The Substation for giving us this opportunity to share our knowledge and passion on technology.

AVC is testing a new feature which is on free trial now. The new “direct-to-YouTube” feature let you record a video using your 3G phone directly to YouTube without the need to upload.

It is very simple to use, just video call 6828 9965 and follow the on-screen instructions. Your video clip should appear on YouTube within 10 minutes at www.youtube.com/user/asiavideoclub.

The service is free. You just pay the normal airtime charges (same as voice call). There is no data charge.

We hope to integrate this feature to AVC in the near future.
