    Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

    Spectrum TV

NTU runs an interesting 3G video-on-demand service introduced by Assistant Professor Bradley C. Freeman. The service is accessible by making a video call to 6403 9849. It showcases the campus news-style video magazine program called “Nanyang Spectrum” and also the arts and fashion focused “Kaleidoscope”. Kaleidoscope has two main programmes, Fashionscope which covers every aspects of fashion from makeup and hairstyling to the latest street fashion and Artscope which lines up news and interviews on unique, underground music and non-mainstream movies. Nanyang Spectrum and Kaleidoscope are weekly productions produced and presented by students from the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication & Information.

Adding a touch of innovation, the 3G service also let callers have a live view of what’s happening in the booth of Radio Fusion, the campus radio station. It is the first local station to adopt such technology in Singapore.
